  • Miles and Smiles: Harley-Davidson Eyes India
"Harley-Davidson Motor Company, the US-based maker of iconic sportster and cruise motorcycles, has set its eyes on the Indian market. Harley-Davidson will look at tapping the Indian market by using the import route. In the first week of this month, the company’s executives were here, making the rounds of the commerce ministry. Their agenda was to find out the government’s intent regarding the emission norms on high-end motorcycles and to seek a reduction in Customs duty on the bikes, says government officials."

  • threetwochoppers: El Segundo

"Innovation is a very basic concept. You either set the trends, or you follow them."

  • thekneeslider: Roland Sands Wins 2006 Biker Build Off

"It will be very interesting to see how the rest of the bike builders respond to this change of direction. We may see some drop by the wayside as they find themselves unable to build something that works and there may be a rise of a whole new breed of bike builder, individuals that have taken the time to learn about motorcycle dynamics. I know to most of us around here, this is refreshing, I’m just all smiles!" Roland Sands

  • BNO and Uncaged Librarian: PEZ Chopper

"Orange County Choppers, Inc., the group behind the American Chopper television show, is constructing this PEZ chopper for display at the PEZ factory. OCC charges $100,000 or more to do a themed motorcycle like this. PEZ is apparently also planning an Orange County Choppers Gift Set that will be "limited" to 250,000 or 300,000 sets. There will be a set of three dispensers, one for each of the stars of the show: Paul Sr., Paul Jr., and Mikey. The release date is supposed to be around October. If this happens, it will represent a departure from PEZ's long-standing rule that no dispensers are made of real people. Dispensers showing "humans" are not prohibited, but dispensers showing a real-life person are -- or were. A Princess Leia dispenser shows a "person", but that person is a character from a movie, not the actress playing the character. The OCC guys may seem a bit cartoonish, but they are real people playing themselves on the show, not actors playing a character."

  • Myrtle Beach Online: Build legend Billy Lane roars into Myrtle Beach

"Billy Lane and Choppers Inc. pulled into Myrtle Beach this week and parked at the Broken Spoke Saloon. A frequent face on the Discovery Channel, Lane is known as a legend in biker circles. He doesn't just design bikes that leave enthusiasts wanting more, he holds seven patents on motorcycle parts and accessories."
